Seismic & Structural
The PCH 1026 offers permanent monitoring of low
frequency structural and seismic vibrations.
PCH 1026 is a monitor for very low frequency applications, such as steel towers, chimneys, bridges and buildings. The PCH 1026 can monitor vibration in buildings according to ISO 4866.
The PCH 1026 is an all digital vibration monitor. It has 3 internal sensors (accelerometers) allowing for measurements in 3 directions (X, Y and Z), each with independent conditioning channels available. However, also 2 or 3 conditioning channels can be assigned to just one sensor, i.e. one direction, if signals of different frequencies have the strongest appearance in the same direction.

PCH 1026 • Digital Structural Vibration Monitor
The PCH 1026 offers permanent monitoring of low frequency structural and seismic vibrations. PCH 1026 is a monitor for very low frequency applications, such as the tower
and blades of windturbines or steel towers, chimneys, bridges and buildings.
The PCH 1026 is equipped with proven filter techniques, based on experience with many applications, especially in windturbines. PCH 1026 offers a set of outputs, i.e. up to 4 independent industrial 4-20mA outputs, up to 4 independent Alarm relays plus 1 System Failure relay and a seriel RS-232/RS-485 port for connection to a Controller or PC. PCH 1026 is supplied with the PC program CHT 1024, which makes setup and configuration of the monitor a very easy task to do. The PC program runs on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.
As an option for OEM customer solutions the PCH 1026 can be equipped with an interface for various Bus communication types, such as CANopen, InterBUS, ProfiBUS DP, DeviceNET, etc.
The PCH 1026 comprises a test function, which can be used to test both the internal sensors (accelerometers) as well as the outputs of the monitor. It reports to any connected controller by means of the System Failure relay and the seriel port. Details concerning the cause of the System Failure can be found using the comprehensive information list in the supplied PC program CHT 1024. The test can also be performed automatically. In the PC program you can set how often the test should be performed. E.g. once pr. day or week, etc.
The feature OmniDirectional Tower Monitoring developed by PCH Engineering gives a complete monitoring of the bending of the tower. It enables the monitor to detect all movements of the tower in the horizontal plane – Omni Directional Detection – (patent pending). This means, no matter what causes the tower to move and no matter what direction it moves in, the monitor will detect the movement. If it exceeds the pre-set alarm limits, the monitor will send an alarm e.g. via the internal alarm relays.
PCH 1026 provides far more precise electronical surveillance of the construction than today's existing mechanical and electronic detectors, thus resulting in fewer faulty alarms.
