Permanent Sound Monitors

Need to keep the noise level in check?

PCH Engineering A/S offers a sound monitor for the stand-alone, local monitoring of noise levels.

Use it to monitor the noise level of traffic, airports, discotheques, working areas and other environments subject to noise restrictions.

Configure your own alarm levels and let the sound monitor alert you when the noise level is nearing the limit.

Below is our approximitated A-weighting filter for up to 10 kHz:

Sound Monitors

The PCH 1420 Sound Pressure Monitor measures in Pascal (Pa) and supports up to 4 IEPE microphone inputs. If you have a Hydrophone you need to use a Charge to CCLD converter like the 2647.

The monitor is useful as an online sound pressure meter for overall noise levels.

But that is not all.

It can also be used to validate equipment such as sirens and alarms and to perform frequency analyses of tones in an offline FFT spectrum.

Keep track of the Noise with the PCH 1420 Sound Pressure Monitor

You can use the PCH 1420 Sound Pressure Monitor for monitoring a maximum sound pressure level (SPL) in a given tone (frequency) or an approximated A-weighting filter band. If the sound pressure level exceeds the threshold, e.g. 94dB, the built-in relay drivers will give a digital signal to a PLC.

The monitor measures linear sound pressure in Pascal (Pa). The Pascal measurement is displayed in the user software, delivered as 0/4-20 mA/0-10 V and is easily configured to the microphone of your choice.

Features:
  • Up to 4 IEPE microphone inputs, max 3.5VAC RMS
  • Sensitivity supported: 12/14.5/18/31.6/50/100 mV/Pa
  • 2 or more configurable filter bands per input channel
  • 2 individually configurable alarm levels per measurement
  • Time waveform recording up to 10 kHz and offline FFT analysis
  • 24VDC power supply and prepared for DIN rail installation
