Portable Vibration Meters

Overall vibrations are often measured according to ISO 20816-3 (previously ISO 10816) as general guidelines.

The standard defines overall velocity alarm levels for four groups of machines which are ranged according to their size and base foundations.

PCH Engineering A/S offers a range of easy-to-use handheld vibration meters measuring the vibration level in velocity, accelleration or displacement. They are primarily intended for measurement of overall vibration level by maintenance technicians.

Data can be used for confirmation of compliance with ISO standards as well as for trending purposes.

Measuring both low and high-frequency vibrations

All of our handheld products covers the traditional 10-1000 Hz range and for the PCH 4051 it is also possible to measure 1-10 kHz range which is helpful if trying to detect condition based failures like an emerging bearing failure.

PCH 4020 Mk2 Vibro Pen

The PCH 4020 Mk2 Vibro Pen is easy to use and is about the size of an ordinary ball point pen so you can carry it anywhere.

It measures the vibration level in the 10 - 1000 Hz frequency range in velocity mm/s rms and complies with the DIN/ISO 10816/20816 standard.

Using the PCH 4020 Mk2 you can easily measure imbalance and misalignment in rotating machinery.

PCH 4050 Vibration Checker (discontinued)

Discontinued model. We recommend you use the PCH 4051 Vibration Checker with an external accelerometer instead. Please see below.

The PCH 4050 Vibration Checker is a portable vibration meter with an internal accelerometer for measuring imbalance, misalignment and bearing noise. You can measure the vibration level in three units; velocity, acceleration and in displacement.

The PCH 4050 complies with the DIN/ISO 10816/20816 standard. Furthermore, the PCH 4050 measures bearing noise in the 1 kHz - 10 kHz range. You simply place the measuring tip on the bearing housing and the vibration level is displayed immediately.

PCH 4051 Vibration Checker

The PCH 4051 Vibration Checker is a one-button, handheld vibration measuring device featuring a separate accelerometer with a strong magnet or for measurements on hard-to-reach machine parts.

You can measure the vibration level in velocity, acceleration and displacement. The PCH 4051 complies with the DIN/ISO 10816/201816 standard and measures imbalance at 10-1000 Hz as well as resonance and bearing noises in the 1 kHz - 10 kHz range.

If you use the included magnet or a threaded stud for positioning the accelerometer, you get more repeatable measuring results, enabling you to compare data over time.
